1. Are there financial benefits to going solar?

When you install a solar energy system on your property, you save money on your electricity bills and protect yourself against rising electricity rates in the future. How much you can save depends on the utility rates and your energy output, but going solar is a smart investment regardless of where you live.

2. Will I still produce electricity when it is cloudy or during nighttime

Yes, you will still maintain power during those times. Our engineering software will determine the precise size system for your home, so no matter the weather, your system will always have power. Your system is built to over produce electricity when the sun is strongest sending excess energy to the grid for storage. This allows your system to pull that power back from storage when the sun is not shining.

3. Do I need a battery to run the system?

NO! A battery is not a necessity thanks to net-metering, which allows you to share the grid and maintain your power without the use of a battery or generator.

4. What is net-metering?

Net metering allows residential and commercial customers who generate their own electricity from solar power to sell the electricity they aren't using back into the grid. So the power you draw back from the grid is offset by the credits you were given. This is what allows homeowners to potentially eliminate their electricity bill.

5.. Are the panels warrantied?

YES! All of our panels come with a 25 year warranty and a life span of up wards to 30+ years.

6. Can having a solar system installed on my house increase my home's value?

YES! According to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, every dollar that a solar panel saves you on your electrical bills increases the value of your home by $20

7. Will I need a new roof before installation?

The rule of thumb is for asphalt shingle roofs to be 10 years old or less, so most solar customers choose to replace the roof simultaneously, in order to take advantage of the federal government incentive program.

8. How much of my bill can truly be eliminated?

Amistad Solar WILL NOT install a single panel on your roof unless we know we can offset 100% of your annual energy output. This is our GUARANTEE to you!
